What We Do
Kwathu Breakfast Club is a non-profit community group that provides breakfast and education to children living in Sani Village, Nkhotakota, Malawi. Every morning, we serve porridge, sweet potatoes, cassava and tea to 100 children to help start their day. Our mission is to build a nursery school for these children so they have a dedicated space to learn, grow, and develop.
Why
In Malawi, early years education is not financially supported by the government. Villages are encouraged to build their own nurseries in the form of Community Based Organisations (CBOs) but these are often under-resourced (if they exist at all) and run by volunteers who do not have access to quality training. At Kwathu Breakfast Club, we believe that food and education are human rights and not privileges. We are committed to providing free and accessible breakfast and education to children in Sani Village, Nkhotakota, Malawi. Our initiative provides breakfast and school supplies to children in need.
